The new Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 commenced on 1 July 2010.

Many documents will now be uploaded on to Council's website.

If you wish to access Council information under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, (GIPA) please download a formal or informal application form by clicking on the links below. Please complete the form and submit it to Council.

Annual Reports

The information provided in the Annual Reports is designed to meet the requirements of Section 428 of the Local Government Act 1993.

Additionally, Council is required to include statistical information relating to the Freedom of Information Act, 1989 (Practice Note 7, page 12).

A full set of General Purpose Financial Reports, Special Purpose Financial Reports and Special Schedules for the year is attached as Appendix A.

Financial Reports

Financial Reports cover the consolidated operations for Junee Shire Council.

Junee Shire Council is a body corporate of NSW, Australia - being constituted as a Local Government area by proclamation and is duly empowered by the Local Government Act (LGA) 1993 of NSW.

Council's Statutory Charter is specified in Section 8 of the LGA and includes:

  • carrying out activities and providing goods, services & facilities appropriate to the current & future needs of the Local community and of the wider public,
  • responsibility for administering regulatory requirements under the LGA and other applicable legislation, and role in the management, improvement and development of the resources of the local government area.

Junee Shire Council has developed a number of strategies and plans in order to meet the requirements of the Integrated Planning and Reporting framework.

Management Plans

Prior to the introduction of the Integrated Planning and Reporting framework, Junee Shire Council prepared a Management Plan covering Council’s activities for the a three year period. The Management Plan was prepared to assist in focusing the operations of Council towards fulfilling the expectations of the community as far as possible, given the financial capabilities of the community to support Council’s operations.

The Management Plan included the following:

  • A rating structure for each financial year.
  • A listing of all fees and charges for each financial year.
  • A statement of the Budget for the next 3 financial years.

Monthly Business Papers

The Business Paper is uploaded following each monthly Council Meetings.

They include the Agenda, the Mayoral Minute, the General Manager's Report and the Information Booklet.

Archived Business Papers are available on request.

Newsletter

Council produces a newsletter approximately 3 times per year and distributes it to every household in the Shire. We use the newsletters to let residents know what has been happening around the Shire and to advise them of upcoming events and activities. The most recent newsletters are available below:
