In recent years Junee Shire Council has introduced many changes to the way we deal with our waste. The most recent change was the introduction of a kerbside recycling collection for residents and businesses in the town of Junee. The kerbside recycling service is another step forward in our move to providing more environmentally sustainable waste management practices.

Your waste is collected in two different bins, a 120L red lid rubbish bin and a 240L green recycling bin.
Your rubbish is collected weekly on either a Monday or Thursday and taken to Gregadoo Waste Management Facility for disposal.
 Recycling is collected fortnightly, with the town split into four different collection areas. Your bin is commingled which means that all recyclable material is placed into this bin and then taken to the Elouera Recycling Facility in Cootamundra for sorting, baling and transport.
On the days when both your bins are collected on the same day (once every two weeks), please remember to place them at least 1 meter apart on the edge of the gutter, clear of trees, parked cars or any other obstruction. |

Green waste should not be placed in either of your bins. All green waste should be taken to the designated area at the Junee Transfer Station. Or better still, why not turn it into compost.
The following items ONLY are accepted as Green waste
- Lawn Clippings
- Leaves
- Prunings
- Weeds (with excess soil shaken off)

Hard waste that is no longer of any use will be disposed of in the transportable skip bins. Such items may include:
- Domestic household items
- Used furniture
- White goods
- Used electrical appliances and tools

A designated Metal Waste pile is located at the Junee Transfer Station. Disposal of metal waste is free of charge. |
