Message for Seniors' Festival 2016 from the Mayor

15 Mar 2016 12:08 PM - Grow Young - An Attitude
The theme for NSW Seniors Festival 2016 is certainly a great reminder, not only to those of us that may be “getting on” but also to those younger members of our community. The fact is, that we are only getting old on the outside. The inside still thinks the same, still has the same interests and views.

Sometimes perhaps we might find ourselves slipping into an “I’m too old for that” frame of mind but when we properly consider ourselves, it really is a simple matter of a change of attitude.

The program this year, if it’s possible, looks even better than last year. I commend you to take advantage of the opportunities on offer.

From Grandparent’s Story Time in the library to Gentle Water Exercise or Tai Chi at the Recreation & Aquatic Centre. Perhaps you’ d prefer a bus trip to Albury or a luncheon at the Ex-Services Club? Whatever pushes your buttons, blows your hair back or gets you going, there is something for everyone.

So, on behalf of Junee Shire Council, I encourage you to keep that young attitude, get involved and make the most of this fantastic Senior’s Week Program.

Junee Mayor
