Relief as Fence is Returned by Good Samaritan

24 May 2017 2:23 PM -

A good Samaritan contacted the Junee Shire Council yesterday wanting to help bring to an end the reputational damage caused to the community over a dispute involving a pharmacist and a fence.

General Manager, James Davis said that yesterday was a difficult situation for the organisation and particularly for staff and their family members. "We received a number of calls from staff concerned about what was happening, and for a few it meant uncertainty for their family members who rely on routine medication that they normally purchase at the local pharmacy."

The Council was delighted to hear that Ms Gentle has removed the sign denying access to the Junee Capital Chemist by Council staff, Councillors and their family members.

"It is pleasing to see the matter has now been resolved and residents and staff can again access the local pharmacy,"    Mayor Neil Smith said.

Council was pleasantly surprised by the actions of an individual who took it upon themselves to broker a solution between the Council and Chemist and by nightfall yesterday, the security fence was returned to its owner.
