Planning Proposal

Junee Shire Council has on public exhibition a planning proposal that seeks the removal of references to 'existing holdings' under Clause 4.2A of the Junee LEP 2021.

The intention of this removal is to reduce unplanned rural development and to facilitate more certainty around where dwellings can and cannot be built. A sunset clause will be inserted into Clause 4.2A of the LEP providing a period of 12 months for landowners whose lands may be identified as existing holdings to seek a formal development consent for a dwelling on land that is reliant on this provision. At the end of the 12 months, all reference to existing holdings will be removed from this clause and the existing holding status of any land will not be able to be relied on for the purpose of a development consent for a dwelling.

Submissions regarding the Planning Proposal may be submitted via the link below, or in writing and addressed to the General Manager, Junee Shire Council, PO Box 93, JUNEE NSW 2663. Alternatively, submissions can be email to jsc@junee.nsw.gov.au.

The planning proposal is now on exhibition at the following link until 20 May 2021.
